August 20th, 2010 - New Studio Floor and Shoe Policy

On August 30th, a new vinyl floor covering is being installed over the current wood floor. The new covering should be more durable than the finish on the current wooden floor. However, this floor is susceptible to scratches from rocks embedded in the tread of street shoes. Starting August 30th, ALL JKD students are required to have a dedicated pair of shoes for class. It is not necessary that you purchase new shoes just for the class, but you may not wear the same shoes you use outside the studio. It is very easy to pick up gravel and other debris in the tread of your shoe. When you perform JKD footwork, that debris will tear up the floor surface.

Feb 20, 2010 - New Wednesday Night Classes

Due to some new flexibility in Mike's work schedule, he is now able to teach classes on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm. The great news is that tuition remains the same, but you now have double the opportunity to learn! Wednesday night classes will place additional focus on strategy and sparring while Sunday nights will primarily be structured around technique and conditioning. All students are welcome ( and encouraged ) to attend both nights.
